10 Outrageous Goals

OUR 10 OUTRAGEOUS GOALS

In our first five years, we plan to . . .

1.  Touch 25,000 People With the Love of God Through Service to Our City
Anchor seeks to show the love of God to Long Beach in a tangible way. We are involved with AIDS Walk, Project Achieve Homeless Shelter, school supplies drives, 30-Minute Beach Clean-Up, and a bunch of everyday acts of kindness.

2.  Share Christ With 2,500 People
While we serve our community and build trusting relationships with those who do not yet know Christ, we seek to share the good news of Jesus with 2,500 people.

3.  Introduce 250 People to Christ and Help Them to Follow Him
Anchor seeks to introduce 250 people to Jesus in five years and help these precious people find the hope that anchors our souls.

4.  Develop 50 Small Groups
U2 said it well: "Sometimes you can't make it on your own."  Getting together with other Christians promotes purposeful, intimate, encouraging fellowship. We will create 50 small groups that meet for coffee, for meals, for beer, for worshiping and praying together, learning the Bible together, reaching out to their community together, and sharing life.

5.  80% of Church Involved in Ministry
Church should be a place where people can contribute their talents, skills, care and encouragement. We seek to have a full 80% of our church involved in serving each other on Sundays and throughout the week.

6.  Start 2 More Churches
We are aleady watching for leaders to carry out God's vision for multiplying churches.

7.  Partner With 2 Missionaries
We desire to reach beyond our city and country to help bring the gospel to other countries. We already partner with three missionaries.

8.  Raise Up 1 Missionary From Our Ranks
Anchor desires to raise up new missionaries from our midst, whom we will help train, support and send out.

9.  Partner With 1 Inner City Church
As the needs of the inner city overwhelm inner city churches, our church will offer prayer and financial partnership, help with construction, computers, tutoring, counseling, business skills, life skills, evangelism, discipleship and leadership training.

10. Launch a Spanish Language Service
Hispanics constitute the largest and fastest growing minority group in America (12.5%). In Long Beach they represent more than 1/3 of the population. Our church desires to reach Spanish speakers with services in their heart language.
