The Color of Jesus
I have a friend of a different race. As I was considering our friendship one day, it struck me that we are the same color in Jesus.
Because there is no color in Jesus.
I've heard people argue that Jesus was one color or the other. I don't care what color he was. What difference could Jesus' skin color make to the plan of God and the mission of church?
Anchor longs to reflect the racial diversity of Long Beach. It is amazing that the most enduring form of prejudice seems to be based on skin color--the wrapper humans come in. The Bible sees two kinds of people: those who know God and those who don't.
Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
What color was Jesus? Red, with his blood he shed for sinners.
We are the color of Christ. In eternity people from all races and tribes will gather around the throne of God for worship. Eternity starts now.
