Servant Team

Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve...You don't have to know Einstein's theory of relativity to serve...You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, and you can be that servant."                                 Martin Luther King

Jesus Is the LEAD Pastor

Colossians 1:18 reminds us that Jesus is the "Head" of the church, so therefore He is the "Sr. Pastor," and we are all ministers of the gospel for God's glory. With that, the bible tells us he gives the church servants to humbly submit to Christ, and to serve the church for His purposes (See Ephesians 4:11-13). Jesus, our Sr. Pastor, became a servant for us so that we would serve others as ministers of the gospel. The following is our dedicated Servant Team:

Our Pastors

We believe that the term Elder/Pastor are synonymous terms in the New Testament, and are called by God to lead the local church of God (See Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5), especially in the areas of teaching, theology and shepherding (1 Timothy 2:9-13; 5:17; 1 Peter 5:1-3).

Mike and Donna Gunn Mike was called to Anchor as a teaching Elder/Pastor in July of 2013. Mike leads in teaching/preaching, vision and equipping, and is a Missional Community Leader. Mike and Donna have 2 adult children, a daughter in law and a grandson!

Andre and Kirstin Jones The Jones' have been with Anchor for many years and have served faithfully throughout their time. Kirstin is our Outreach Coordinator, and Dre leads an MC amongst other duties. Andre was voted in as an Elder in 2016

John and Sonia Idio The Idio's have been attending Anchor the past 3 years and have been faithful servants of the gospel the whole time. John was voted in as an Elder in 2016. John and Sonia have two small boys.

Our Deacons

1 Timothy 3 as well as Philippians 1:1 seem to indicate that there is an office of Deacon (Deaconess), but the term (Diakonos) is often used in the New Testament for "Servant," which if nothing else defines the position of Deacon (Deaconess) in the church. While we believe that all members of Anchor are "Ministers/Servant," Deacons are called upon to serve the church in a more official way, and have qualified per 1 Timothy. Their main role is to help the ministries of the church function well in order to allow the Elder/Pastors to attend to the word and prayer (See Acts 6:1-6).

Our Group Leaders

Group Leaders are other men and women who lead and/or serve ministries in the church, but haven't worked through the material to become a Deacon or Deaconess, and/or work with a Deacon or Elder who oversees the ministry.
