Anchoring ALL People to Hope in God by loving, serving and preaching the Gospel to our City and the World.
We are a community striving to become a diverse family of people joining Jesus’ mission to make disciples and plant churches reaching locally and globally.
What Is Our Story?
We are a community of faith for those that are churched and un-churched, seeking and not seeking.
We are striving to become a more diverse family of followers of Jesus, whose desire is to grow in our love and service toward one another and our knowledge and love of Jesus. We desire to follow Jesus’ command to make disciples by preaching the gospel, practically living out the implications of the Gospel by serving the marginalized in our community, and partnering with others to help plant healthy churches both locally and globally.
Watch Pastor Mike Gunn talk about the mission and vision of Anchor Community Church.
"Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve...You don't have to know Einstein's theory of relativity to serve...You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, and you can be that servant."
– Martin Luther King
Colossians 1:18 reminds us that Jesus is the "Head" of the church, so therefore He is the "Sr. Pastor," and we are all ministers of the gospel for God's glory. With that, the bible tells us he gives the church servants to humbly submit to Christ, and to serve the church for His purposes (See Ephesians 4:11-13). Jesus, our Sr. Pastor, became a servant for us so that we would serve others as ministers of the gospel.

What To Expect
You can expect a group of broken people at different levels of their journey in Christ striving to know Jesus more and fellowship with one another. We are a small, informal and diverse body, bonded together by the ‘Good News’ of Jesus. Our service seeks to honor God, by the singing of songs, recognizing and repentance of our sins, the reading and preaching of scripture, the sacrament of Communion, remembering that Christ died for our sins and the admonition to love and serve one another and our city.

- Stop Having Christians Over For DinnerMay 8, 2018Growing up I loved my family. It seemed to me like every ounce of blessing we received was shared. Generous and hospitable were a few words to describe my great-grandfather and great-grandmother. Sure we had our issues like all families due but the generosity I witnessed was more than just giving. It was fueled by something much more than altruism. My great-grandparents had experienced the gospel [Read More]
Missional Communities are our small groups, where our people are in community on mission!
Missional Communities are made up of groups of missionary servants who are making disciples, are devoted to Jesus, and one another, as well as their neighbors and city! It is a group of people meeting in homes of South LA and Orange Counties during the week in order to live their lives together in ways that honor God, show love and care for one another and make the gospel evident to the watching world.
"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.'" – Matthew 19:14
Our vision for our children's ministry is to create a an exciting learning experience for kids, so that they would become active followers of Jesus Christ, and be able to critically think through their faith and be able to defend it as they get older.
